Presentation May 21, 2024 at 6:30 PM in The Willow Room, "Digger Gallagher the Canaler"

The Broadview Heights Historical Society is a free venue for the public and a golden opportunity to leisurely see all items creatively displayed. Many of these artifacts include donations from local family collections. Among them are old yearbooks, an extensive archive of newspapers, vintage furniture, and an array of military memorabilia. The public is urged to view mainly because it is about YOU.  Right now, there exists an urgent need for additional museum staff comprised of a younger generation accepting "the torch”.  The website to consult for hours open and location is:  Broadviewheightshistoricalsociety.org   Specifically stating the mission, the Historical Society is an organization focused upon bringing together within our community resources to further business growth.  This is geared towards supporting development and implementation of ongoing activities and events.

The public is invited to the presentation in The Willow Room on May 21, 2024 at 6:30 PM, located in the Community Center. This free program presenter will be Mr. Foster Brown of Cleveland Metroparks. He will be giving the history of the famous Erie Canal. He will be posing as "Digger Gallagher The Canaler" with audience participation. Please come and learn this history in your own back yard. “History cannot give us a program for the future, but it can give us a fuller understanding of ourselves, and our common humanity, so that we can better face the future.” Robert Penn Warren RSVP for limited seating and any questions can be addressed to Louise at Lfiszer1@gmail.com
